Permanent or fixed retainers are especially important for many of our teenage patients who sometimes "forget" about wearing retainers but our adult patients appreciate the convenience and security.

The clear/invisible retainer - resembles a clear shell that precisely fits each tooth. This type of retainer can be used to make small movements of teeth if necessary. These retainers are usually worn at night and can also be used for whitening.

Hawley Retainer - This type of retainer has plastic on the inside and a wire that runs across the front teeth. This retainer is typically worn full-time for one year and then just at night thereafter.
